K-Method Consulting has specialised in helping to manage the procurement of complex portfolios of custom designed materials. Custom designed materials are those materials for which the buyer owns the specifications, e.g. as it is typically in categories like labels or plastic injection.  A complex portfolio will typically have >100 different specifications in a single purchasing category. The idea of the K-Method is to negotiate a price formula covering all (possible) specifications rather than negotiating each item individually. A software (K-Vallo), accessible by buyers and suppliers, holding all specifications of the buyer and agreed price formulas with suppliers, automatically feeds contracts to the ERP systems of the parties with the respective price.
