The world faces multiple existential threats: social; political; and to its ecosystem. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says the Earth’s temperature is likely to increase by 1.5C in the next 20 years, which will result in many new climate-related threats.
As temperatures and sea levels rise while governments struggle to agree on a plan for a healthy and prosperous world, businesses have an ethical duty to have a positive effect on the world in which they operate by placing a renewed focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) challenges.
